silver creek falls

i’ve been hanging with my friend tracy alot lately. she enjoys the outdoors as much as i do so we always try to hike or beach trip or something of that sort.  i’ve been wanted to go to silver creek falls for quite some time but i haven’t been in the area to do so.

it was about 35 degrees when i woke up but i figured i shop at northface for a reason lets do this!

i grabbed a hooligun hoodie and a jacket, thru on my vans and walked out the door. she bundled up with seriously 5 layers then as we stepped out of the car i noticed she had the type of boots to climb mt everest on her feet. i said “where are we going?” i guess i got a little nervous. “should i bring granola? are we going into survival mode?

i believe the park has about 17 miles of trails? but as we started our hike we noticed there was not a single foot step in the snow. we were it! we only walked a tiny loop that took us from the left of the fall (1st picture) around behind the fall, then down a hill (where i slipped and almost fell on my face) to the bridge (picture 4). then back up a hill along the left of the fall and back to our car.

i guess all the fun i made of her for layering up so much came back and (frost) bit myself in the butt. she was warm and i was cold. my fingers were frozen solid, and sorry vans i love your shoes but the classic lace-up is not made for snow.

we had a great day. as always it was fun to hang out with her and the outdoors still rule in my book!
